Evaluation Q2.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
We chose Paramount Pictures to distribute our film because when we did our research we found that they had distributed many action or spy films, for example Top Gun, Mission Impossible 1, 2, 3 and 4 and Lara Croft Tomb Raider. Top Gun grossed $353,816,701, Mission Impossible 1,2, 3 and 4 together made $2,093,734,671 .

Evaluation Q1.

How does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Our opening sequence uses props which other real media products would use, for example guns. When we did our research we saw that all action films use weapons, most of them being guns. We also challenged stereotypes and conventions of real media products because there are no men in the opening sequence. The British agent in our film is a female which isnt usually done in action films, it is usually men who is the main part. We challenged this stereotype because when we did our questionnaires whilst planning, we found that a lot of people said they would find it interesting to see more of females as main roles and involved in the action. Lara Croft Tomb Raider is a film which supports our representation of women as she is the lead role. Paramount also distributed this film which is the reason we chose to use it. Lara Croft did very well at the box office grossing $274,703,340.

Extra Editing! 7/03/12

We had a free on the 7th March so Kelly and I decided to come back into the classroom even though there was a lesson going on and work on our editing again before the editing of the opening sequence needed to be complete. Using this time we trimmed some scenes and made our chase scene faster. A few days later we added our titles then last of all we put the music and sound effects on.

What is Day One about?

Day One is a Spy/Action Spoof film. It is all about MI5 hunting down a notorious Russian Spy, the British Agent (in black) is chasing the Russian Spy's acomplice (in pink) and at the end of our clip a mystery character apears and kills the british agent. In the rest of the film it is left open for MI5 to hunt down the Russian Spy especially now that he has killed one of their own agents. It is going to have twists in this film and in the end the audience will find out that the one in black thought to be the British agent is actually a spy themselves and everyone is corrupt.
